Perylene Monoimide Dimers Enhance Ternary Organic Solar Cells Efficiency by Induced D–A Crystallinity

Posted on 2018-12-21 - 00:00
Three acetylene-bridged perylene monoimide dimers were used as the second nonfullerene acceptor component for efficient ternary solar cells. The molecular aggregation behavior of the host donor and acceptor was greatly affected when active layer of film was prepared by solution method. Fifteen percent weight ratio of the third annexing agents adjusted the active layer properties of all sides including enhanced light absorption, improved morphology, and facilitating the excitons splitting, transporting, and collection. A great increase in VOC, JSC, and fill factor was observed; consequently, a power conversion efficiency increase to 9.77% was obtained compared to that of 8.35% of the control binary device.
