A solid ion-exchange and diffusion method has been successfully developed to produce Co9S8/S, N-codoped carbon hybrids. CdS is chosen as a hard template and ZIF-67 plays the important role of a reducing agent as well as the carbon, nitrogen, and cobalt sources. It should be noticed that the usage of CdS instead of S powder or organic S compounds can efficiently avoid air pollution and simplify the synthetic steps. In the following test, the as-obtained Co9S8/S, N-codoped carbon nanomaterial exhibits a remarkable enhanced LIB performance.
