Excess reactive oxygen species (ROS) are major contributors to localized inflammation. Therefore, the development of effective ROS scavengers in pro-inflammatory immune cells was an important strategy for the treatment of localized inflammation. In this study, dendritic mesoporous silica nanoparticles (DMSNs) were loaded with selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) and then functionalized with hyaluronic acid (HA) to enable the targeted delivery of SeNPs. The constructed SeNPs@DMSNs-HA effectively scavenged ROS in macrophages and realized therapeutic effects for localized inflammatory injuries by eliminating the ROS.
