The reaction of FcPH2 [Fc = (C5H4)Fe(C5H5)] with nBuLi and As(NMe2)3 in tmeda (Me2NCH2CH2NMe2) gives [(FcP)3(Li·tmeda)2] (1), containing the first example of an organometallic phosphanediide anion, [FcP]32−.
