The phosphoranimine, Cl3PNSiMe3, was prepared using a new, high-yield (>80%), one-pot synthesis via oxidation of the chlorophosphine, Cl2PN(SiMe3)2 with SO2Cl2 in ether. Cl3PNSiMe3 is a valuable monomeric precursor in the synthesis of well-defined polyphosphazenes.
