Low-Dimensional Hybrid Copper Halides with Novel D6R Cu₆I₆ Cores

Two low-dimensional hybrid copper halides, (2,2‘-bipy)Cu₃I₃ (1) and (2,2‘-bipy)Cu₄I₄ (2) (2,2‘-bipy = 2,2‘-bipyridine), with novel D6R (double six-membered rings) Cu₆I₆ cores were synthesized by hydro(solvo)thermal reactions and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
