GoldbergThe platinum(II) complex (PN)PtMe2 (1; PN = 2-((di-tert-butylphosphino)methyl)pyridine) reacts with molecular oxygen in benzene or methylene chloride solutions to form (PN)PtMe(OOMe) (2), a platinum(II) methylperoxo complex. The structure of the methylperoxo species 2 was determined by X-ray crystallography.
