Synthesis and Characterization of Thorium ansa-Cyclopentadienyl−Amido Complexes

Two new thorium complexes, a tetramer (1) of C5Me4Si(Me)2NPhThCl2, and a dimer (2) of Li(Et2O)2[C5Me4Si(Me)2N-t-BuThCl3], have been synthesized and characterized. In both cases, structural studies reveal the thorium centers may be viewed as having pseudo-octahedral geometry, formally with two dative and two covalent chloride interactions.
