A new malyngamide, S (<b>1</b>), was isolated from a New Zealand collection of the sea hare <i>Bursatella leachii</i>
and structurally characterized by spectroscopic methods and chemical degradation. Malyngamide S
exhibited cytotoxicity and antiinflammatory properties.
