Ion Channel-like Crystallographic Signatures in Modified Guanineā€“Potassium/Sodium Interactions N. Nagapradeep Suneeta Sharma Sandeep Verma 10.1021/cg3016518.s001 https://acs.figshare.com/articles/journal_contribution/Ion_Channel_like_Crystallographic_Signatures_in_Modified_Guanine_Potassium_Sodium_Interactions/2446048 This communication describes crystallographic details of structures reminiscent of ion channels, formed from regioisomeric N7 and N9 guanine-carboxylate conjugates with potassium/sodium ions and their subsequent STM observations on Au(111) surface. Ion channel-like crystal structures were obtained with the observation of a notable shift in metal ion coordination from carbonyl to carboxylate oxygen. These results are expected to provide insight into competing sites for modified guanineā€“metal coordination, an entry into guanine-based ion channels and a route toward guanine-functionalized surfaces. 2013-02-06 00:00:00 metal ion coordination carboxylate oxygen ion channels STM observations regioisomeric N 7
